Ander Lizaso (Oiartzun, 1986) is a Basque industrial designer. He studied engineering and design at the University of Mondragon and at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Madrid. During his last years of education, he oriented his interests towards furniture design and presented his first pieces at the Salone Satelite 2011, the section for new talents at the Milan fair.
In 2012 he began working with Jean Louis Iratzoki, with whom he associated in 2016 to create a joint studio under the brand Iratzoki & Lizaso in the French Basque Country. During this period, he built a solid basis of knowledge and experience both in the area of product design and in artistic direction.
In 2022 he embarked on a new personal project with the creation of Ander Lizaso Studio in his native Oiartzun. From his studio he collaborates with local as well as international companies and projects.
His approach to design is honest and critical at the same time. He runs away from some of the sector’s classic vices and tries to design lasting products that develop links with the user.
